“Gold Chicken Friends”
It’s playful and memorable, but how odd! 
What were we thinking?

2016 – While Cheryl Emory, Chris Hall, Reid Hall, Ellen Hall, and Virginia Casey  were deciding a name for our performing group, Virginia drew a chicken, with a big lip-like beak and Xs for feet. Years ago, Virginia created the “Gold Chicken” character. She drew it on paper, in the snow, on steamy mirrors, and anywhere she could. Ellen looked and exclaimed, “That’s it!” Our annual show became the “Gold Chicken Show.” 

2024 - We separated from L’Arche USA and needed a new name. After years of performing the Gold Chicken Show, we already had name recognition. We love our whimsical and playful name, “Gold Chicken Friends.”
