Brave Souls! will showcase over 60 friends of all abilities.  Gold Chicken friends perform with Susan Greenbaum, our live band, more local performers, and People International performers from across the USA. They sing, dance, play music, and share contagious joy.

What is Gold Chicken Friends?

A community of celebration, respect,
inclusion, and friendship

In Gold Chicken, friends of all abilities gather for friendship, celebration, advocacy, mutual support, and to realize a sense of purpose and self-worth.

Our mission is to enhance life for persons with any intellectual or developmental disability and their loved ones.

We have great fun! More importantly, we form friendships, build support networks, celebrate, advocate, share faith, find joy, and thrive. 

We enjoy luncheons, charity activities, sports, healthy living events, celebrations of all kinds, and our performing group, Gold Chicken Players.

Gold Chicken Friends celebrates the gifts and dignity of every person.

What's different about Gold Chicken?

All are welcome!

Numerous wonderful organizations in Central Virginia provide loving support for persons with disabilities, all with unique offerings.  Below are a few things that make Gold Chicken Friends different.

All Abilities

We reach out to adults with any intellectual or developmental disability.

All Homes

We reach out to families, group homes, and all residential settings.

All Loved Ones

We support friends with disabilities and their loved ones.

All Adult Ages

We support adults of all ages - teenagers through seniors.

2nd Sunday Luncheons

On the 2nd Sunday of each month we meet at Padow's Deli in Midlothian. This is among our oldest and most loved traditions.

You are invited!

Sunday Funday

Every second Sunday after lunch at Padow's there's always something special. 

Bingo

On the 3rd Tuesday of each month, we play Bingo at St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church. 

Special Activities  

Parties, dances, picnics, fishing, trips, art, theater, performances,  games,fitness - there's always something special in the works.
